Raccoon Christmas Shirt Sorta Merry Beanbag Chair Cocoa Mug Lantern

Sorta Merry, Sorta Feral, and Settled Into the Beanbag

Every family has someone who loves Christmas and still needs ten quiet minutes with the lights low by the second afternoon. The raccoon on this shirt is that person, caught right as the day finally slows down. He sinks into a slouchy beanbag chair with his feet up and his striped tail curled over the side, a plaid pillow tucked behind him. Above his head, “Sorta Merry” is stacked in big weathered letters. Underneath, “Sorta Feral” sweeps across in loose brush script, the part he would only admit to once the guests have gone home.

We made this Raccoon Christmas Shirt for the sister who hosts the whole dinner and then vanishes with a mug, and for the dad who loves the lights but not the tangle of them. It is a funny way to say what everyone in the family already knows about December. It’s a lot. It’s also lovely. Wear it to a cookie swap or the office gift exchange, and someone will point at the raccoon and say that’s me.

The Raccoon Christmas Shirt With Sunglasses, a Snowflake Mug, and a Lantern

He wears a pom-pom beanie and a plaid scarf, and the sunglasses keep the whole scene from getting too sweet. In one paw is a mug with a snowflake on it, topped with whipped cream and a curl of steam. Beside him, a small wooden side table holds a glowing lantern and a pinecone, with a little potted tree wrapped in burlap. Holly and berries tuck in around the script at the bottom. Everything about the corner says warm and quiet, and the raccoon looks entirely unbothered.

This one lands best with the person who says they are just recharging on December 23rd. Hand it over before the family dinner and it becomes a running joke by dessert. It also suits a sibling home for the holidays, or a friend whose Christmas spirit arrives a little late and a little loud. Some people are cheerful in loud ways, and some are cheerful from a beanbag. The raccoon speaks for the second kind.

Can the Sorta Merry Raccoon Still Show Up After the Tree Comes Down?

The joke rests on a mood more than a date, so the cocoa-sipping raccoon fits January cold snaps and any evening that calls for a mug and a soft chair. “Sorta Merry, Sorta Feral” works as a year-round attitude even after the lantern is packed away.

Keep the lantern lit and the cocoa warm, and let the raccoon handle the hosting this year.
