We built this round Halloween rug around that one illusion, a striped tunnel narrowing toward a bubbling cauldron at the center, green flame glowing under the rim and smoke rising in loose, hand-painted wisps. It’s a floor piece for the household that treats Halloween as a full production rather than a single wreath on the door, something set down where the entryway needs one more reason to stop trick-or-treaters mid-step.

Around that vortex sits a wide purple-and-black border, patchworked and stitched with a whole cast of small Halloween regulars, skulls, bats, ghosts, and orange stars repeating in a loose, hand-drawn rhythm instead of a tidy printed pattern. It reads like a border a house that goes all-in on October would piece together itself, scraps circling the one object that actually matters, that cauldron mid-brew at the center of the room.
